Transmission Series is a set of contemporary solo, chamber, and large ensemble works by Sarah Rose Weaver and collaborations since 2022. This concert features solo pieces by composer Sarah Weaver and flutist-composer Robert Dick "Time Tone" (2024) (Glissando Flute®) and "Cosmos Synchros" (2025) (Bass Flute). The artists will also host an interactive segment with talks about the pieces and Q&A with the audience.

Sarah Rose Weaver, Ph.D. is a New York-based contemporary composer, conductor, technologist, educator, researcher, and administrator working internationally as a specialist in ensemble composition and network arts. Her network composition system innovates contemplative concepts on synchrony, synthesis, transmission, and interconnection for artistic and social purpose through the networking of music and intermedia elements in notation, structured improvisation, and gestures. Weaver’s works have been performed and recorded over the past twenty-five years throughout New York and internationally. Her recent projects include sets of pieces in Synchrony Series (2011-2019), Synthesis Series (2020-2022), Transmission Series (2022-2024), and new pieces for Transformation Series (2025-). Weaver is Director of the Sarah Weaver Ensemble, Director of NowNet Arts, Editor of the Journal of Network Music and Arts (JONMA), Faculty at New York University, and Author of Weaver Method for Private Teaching in New York City.

Robert Dick is an American flutist, composer, teacher, author, and inventor known for redefining the possibilities of the flute through extended techniques and improvisation. Born in 1950, he is a recipient of the National Flute Association's Lifetime Achievement Award for his pioneering work. His contributions include inventing the Glissando Flute® and writing seminal pedagogical works like "The Other Flute" and "Tone Development through Extended Techniques".
